"Assault on Truth - A History of Holocaust Denial."
On November 15, 2017 Mr. Anthony Iaconelli, B.A. Political Science, M.A. Holocaust Studies, presented this dynamic seminar on Holocaust denial. Mr. Iaconelli is Dean of Students and History Chair at St. Augustine Preparatory in Atlantic County.
The 55 participants engaged in a lively discussion examining the various views which have perpetuated long-standing anti-Semitic stereotypes and hateful charges that were instrumental in laying the groundwork for the Holocaust.
Denial, distortion and misuse are strategies to reduce perceived public sympathy to Jews, undermine the legimacy of the State of Israel, plants seeds about of doubt Jews and the Holocaust and draw attention to particular issues or viewpoints.
This workshop examined the history of the denial movement from the end of World War II to today's Internet age.
